Elephant man/Lady W.

So, I am currently working on two different projects for TBC and hopefully will have some new material to show in the next week or two. One assignment is taken from "The Elephant Man" which involves a collaborative project where a lyricist and a composer write a song that would take place after scene 10. My other project involves the play "Lady Windemere's fan" which is another collaborative project where we will be analyzing the script for places to insert specific types of songs and then making a sketch.

Five people have dropped out of the workshop already due to personal issues and that is sort of upsetting me. It's hard to find a solid learning experience in this field, but you just gotta keep doing what you do and hope it all works out for the best.

Alright, back to writing.

Closing night

So, as I type we are finishing out the final performance of the summer season here at Parkway. I have been sweating and packing a U haul all day and cleaning out the house I lived in. Tomorrow I shall be in Chicago, Rogers Park to be exact.

I took some video clips of my sound work today for my website which I can hopefully use. I do have a shaky hand so it sort of looks like sherlock holmes meets blair witch. Hopefully I can get a copy from someone who used a tripod.

So i have littered everyone I know on facebook.com with a link to my website. i am curious to see the results.

Alright I need to focus on my sound cues.

Where to begin? My Name is Matthew M. Kiedrowski, and this blog is going to be my detailed account of my journey into the professional Music Theatre composing scene. I am a 22yo musical theatre composer, originally from Milwaukee, WI, but have spent the last year in North Carolina, and three previous years in Miami, FL. I work professionally as a Music Director and am currently stationed at Parkway Playhouse, a small professional theatre in Burnsville, NC. However, on sept. 9th, I will be living in chicago, attending the Theatre Building Chicago music theatre composer workshop, and working as a music director.

This blog will be an extension of my website, www.MatthewKiedrowski.com, and will detail my experience at the Theatre Building Chicago workshop as well as my exploits as a music director. Please stop by my website, listen to my show recordings, and feel free to email me a response.

The website will soon be updated with more content, videos of "Rolnikas", and Video from some original sound design I am doing for "Sherlock Holmes; The Final Adventure." Infact, I am typing this entry during a performance of Sherlock. I will also be adding video recordings of all the new work I will be writing in Chicago.

So, let's see what happens.
